Back to School for the President!
Preparations for Fusion's Foundations and Certiicate in Community Transformation courses coming to Taylor College & Seminary in August 2010.

Its not every day that you find the President of a College & Seminary receiving feedback from a panel of teenagers, youth workers and a medical doctor; feedback, that is, on the bible study in which he has just led the panel in! But this was all in a days work during the recent Train the Trainers course run by Fusion International at Taylor College & Seminary in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The course aimed to train those present in the skills, awareness and knowledge necessary to help facilitate Fusion's Foundations course being delivered at Taylor this August.

Fusion's Train the Trainers course is part of a five year plan for establishing a missional Training Centre in Edmonton in partnership with Taylor College & Seminary. Course facilitators were David and Liz Campbell, who lead Fusion's work in Trench Town, Jamaica and Dr. Claire Bankole based with Fusion in Edmonton.

Vice-president of Taylor College and Seminary, Dr. Terry Fossen, Ph.D reflects on his experience of Train the Trainers : "After more than 30 years of ministry through the church as well as the academy, it is both refreshing and challenging to re-discover that our Lord is not finished with me, yet. While journeying through the Fusion 'trainer's training' I became excited, anew, about what is about to unfold in the lives of students and facilitator alike in the immanent Foundations and Certificate in Community Transformation experience."

"Foundations is really more of an experience than a course," explains Dr. Claire Bankole, staff with Fusion International and responsible for helping to establish Fusion's training in Canada "participants learn skills and insights that enable them to be more productive in their relationships whilst unlocking some of the mysteries of their own personal existence through in depth exploration of the bible and God's redemptive work.  Foundations is delivered both as a weeklong residential course as well as one night a week over 12 weeks."

Dr. David Williams, Ph.D, President of Taylor College & Seminary, also one of the participants on the recent Train the Trainers course, took part in Foundations in Tasmania, Australia, the site of Fusion's International Training Centre: "Foundations offers students real life skills not only for personal transformation but also for community transformation.  Anyone interested in making an impact for the Kingdom should seriously consider participating in the course."

Rick Heavener RT, BR, MDiv , a participant on the Train the Trainers course, was also part of a  Foundations course run in Kansas :  "Trainer's Training provided me with an in depth look at the methodology used in teaching the Fusion's Foundations course. Both the content and the process by which it is taught provided a rich experience through which we were once again brought into the wonder of God's glory and love."
